1. Introduction
Audio to Text Online is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This policy applies to all personal data we process regardless of the media on which that data is stored.
2. Our Role
Under the GDPR, we act as both a data controller and a data processor depending on the context:
- As a Data Controller: We determine the purposes and means of processing personal data collected from our users (e.g., account information).
- As a Data Processor: We process personal data contained within your audio files on your behalf.
We take our responsibilities under both roles seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure compliance.
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds:
- Contract: Processing necessary for the performance of our contract with you to provide our services.
- Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by us or a third party, except where such interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
- Consent: Processing based on your specific and informed consent.
- Legal Obligation: Processing necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data that we hold.
4.2 Right to Rectification
You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

5. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@audiototextonline.com.
We will respond to your request within one month of receipt. This period may be extended by two further months where necessary, taking into account the complexity and number of the requests.
6. Data Security
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you without undue delay.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
Audio files and transcriptions are retained according to your subscription plan (e.g., 24 hours for free users, 30 days for premium users). Account information is retained as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and administrative purposes.
8. International Data Transfers
When we transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, binding corporate rules, or other legally accepted mechanisms.

You can contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@www.audiototextonline.com.
10. Complaints
If you believe that our processing of your personal data infringes data protection laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can find your local supervisory authority on the European Data Protection Board's website: European Data Protection Board website.
We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the supervisory authority, so please contact us first at support@audiototextonline.com.
